Educational Inclusion And Quality Of Life: A Theoretical Approach To Its Conception And Implementation

In contemporary society, educational inclusion and quality of life have become crucial for the well-being of individuals. The aim of the study was to analyze how inclusive education contributes to improving students' quality of life, identifying the key dimensions that link both concepts and proposing strategies that foster effective inclusion in the educational field. A theoretical review of academic literature was conducted, using specialized databases such as Scopus and Web of Science, to analyze the relationship between inclusion and quality of life. The results highlight that inclusive education promotes not only cognitive development but also personal and social growth, reducing discrimination and enhancing participation in society. Furthermore, quality of life is addressed through three key approaches: objective, subjective, and holistic, each contributing to a more comprehensive assessment of well-being. The theoretical model of Shalock and Verdugo on people with disabilities provides a robust framework for understanding how inclusion significantly improves quality of life. In conclusion, this study shows that the implementation of inclusive strategies in the educational field is essential to promoting the overall well-being of students, particularly those with special needs, and emphasizes the need to develop public policies that reinforce this link between inclusion and quality of life
